Hey people.....I have installed a trial version of Virus Barrier. Let the free period run and decided I didn't want it. I did what I have alsways done...dragged the file to the trash and there it goes. However when I look to the top of the screen, not sure what its called but I'll call it the menu bar, I can see the little castle icon that if I click brings up virus barrier options. How do I get rid of this?

Well you can press Command + drag the icon off the menu bar to the right of your DeskTop... it'll disappear in a puff of virtual smoke ... then I'd do a Spotlight search for anything with VirusBarrier in the name ... you'd be surprised what other little bits and pieces you'll find.

If you want you can download AppZapper ... that app is great and will delete all the necessary files you want to trash with an impressive ... ZAP!!! sound ...

I once gave it a whirl and loved it ... but then realised SpotLight can ferret out those unwanted little files too ...

The Pulse of the forum is alive and ticking again....
Amazing what you find when you know where to look......I have done some deleting and now running Onyx before a reboot.

Thanks Marty

It's good to go now?

You could have checked to see if the app came with its own uninstaller when you installed it first. Some big apps like that, Adobe too, it's always better to use their uninstallers.

Let us know if all goes well.

I am having similar problems. I removed VirusBarrier (searched under spot light and deleted everything) but it still shows up in random places. I have attached a screen shot. How can I remove it all the way?

This should shed a bit of light on how to remove the remnants of VirusBarrier:
