Is it true that ADOBE Creative Suite doesn't work good(and is slowly) on Mac ,espesially MacBookPRO?why?

I have the educational version of CS2. The update for me is only $199 US. would it be worth it in your opinion? I recently got cs2 and only have used Photoshop so far. I have to get into the other programs what came with the suite.
