I have just tried to sync my .mac account and I get a response of my login failed.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

BD, you might want to send the .Mac Support an email (via a form) on this problem and see if there is any problem at their end.

I contacted them once and they are very nice and helpful. If it is something on your end, they tell you what you have to check for possible fixes.

Sometimes those servers have a brain fart and oopsy! ya can't connect...

Glad it's fixed now. Also you can see the status of the services on your .Mac account page when you log in. They usually post when the servers were having problems and stuff.

If I sync my addresses should they update on my MacBook too? I put a bunch in at work directly into my .mac and they don't show up on my MacBook.

Look carefully at your Sync preferences. You will find these in your System Preferences, in the Internet & Network section, click on the .Mac icon.

Once in the .Mac pane, click on the Advanced tab. Click on the Reset Sync Data button at the bottom. Now before starting the syncing process make sure you select the correct direction of the sync. You want your Mac to be up-to-date with what you have on your .Mac account, not the reverse.

Look at the attached file to see the correct direction...

Under the Sync tab in the same pane, you get to choose which kind of data you want to sync...

Once you have the right direction selected, simply click on the Replace button in that window.

Now it should do all the work and you just have to sit back and relax. :girl:

Be aware though that this will replace the data you already have on your Mac at home though. It will not merge the info: it's either one or the other so make sure what you have on your .Mac account has all what you already have on your Mac at home.
