I was wondering if there was a plugin or some program for macs that allows you to see animate .gif's without having to drag them into a safari browser thanks!

Try getting yourself Xee (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19978). This is a wonderful image viewer that I (and apparently many others on these forums) use as their basic image viewer instead of Preview. It deals correctly with animated gifs with no muss, no fuss.

My Macs: iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5 GHz, G4 Cube with 1.2 GHz Upgrade
My iStuff: 64GB iPhone 5, 64GB iPad4, 30GB iPod Video, 16GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS 9.2.2, openSUSE 10.3
I was on the Mac-Forums honor roll for September 2007

Thanks from me also! Seems like a good program. Is there any way to have it open from my taskbar rather then an icon on my desktop (I try and keep my desktop as clear as possible)?

Drag the icon to your Applications folder and then from the applications folder drag the icon onto your dock.

right click on a jpeg, left click "get info", in the "open with" section choose Xee in the drop down box then click the "change all" button

Maybe a few years late but i'm sure this will be helpful to someone...

I found a plugin for QuickLook that supports .GIF playback in QuickLook (10.5 and above)

Animated GIF QuickLook plugin | Download Animated GIF QuickLook plugin software for free at SourceForge.net

check it out works a treat. Only thing is that the installer installs the plugin to user/Library whereas it needs to be in /Library. This is just a simple drag and drop fix enjoy ladies!
