Know of any good Montage makers?

At present I am using MacOSaix this is really slow with big images and doesn't give much of an option for many tiles and detail
Does any one know of a more efficient Montage builder out there that works better and is either free or cheap or if push comes to shove I can buy it but it would have to be quick and worthwhile.

Appreciate any advice.

That's the best one that I know of.. and just the nature of what it is doing, is going to take a lot of time since it's some serious number crunching.

You can make excellent montages with GIMP, but you need to be familiar with layers, layer masks, gradients and so on. If you are, GIMP is excellent for this sort of thing.

My Macs: iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5 GHz, G4 Cube with 1.2 GHz Upgrade
My iStuff: 64GB iPhone 5, 64GB iPad4, 30GB iPod Video, 16GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS 9.2.2, openSUSE 10.3
