Transmission is a Bit Torrent client, you need to find the torrents online. If you want an app that does bit torrent and searches for torrents, I'd recommend Xtorrent.

google "torrent sites" and it will return with a lot of good ones. as for figuring out what a torrent is and how it works go to wikipedia and search for "bit torrent" and it'll walk you through how it works, what it does and how to use it.

you need to download a torrent file and then use transmission to actually download the file(s)
