creating chapters in iDVD?

i have an avi file i want to burn to dvd format. i just found out how to burn it but is it has no chapters. is there a way i can creat chapters for it? if so can someone pls tell me. thanks

i'm pretty sure you have to do this in imovie first, then import pieces into idvd.
my knowledge of this is only anecdotal at this point. i've burned a couple large one chapter dvds, but have yet to try the sectioning in imovie.

You create the chapters using iMovie. Then in iDVD you can create the menu for the chapters.
