Cleanup applications

I recently uninstalled some sotware on my Imac from palm and wanted to make sure there was nothing lingering, anyone know any good programs to uninstall files and also I want to make sure my system is running properly any good applications for that.

If you have Tiger, you could do a Spotlight search for the name of the program and clean out any orphaned files you find.

On an older OS, you could simply look in your User Library folder, under Preferences and look for files there manually.

That is what I have done. I do have a few palm files though that i delete and then i can not clean out of my trash. They are localized files and it says they are in use but I can seem to quite them.

Can't empty trash.
