Build yourself an alarm clock for OS X!
    1, Open Script Editor.

    Enter

    Code:
    tell application "iTunes"
    	play playlist "Party Shuffle"
    end tell
Save with a meaningful name like "wake up with iTunes"

    or enter

    Code:
    tell application "EyeTV"
    	set current channel to "27"
    	set full screen to true
    end tell
Save as "wake up with CNN", for instance.

2, Open iCal, create new event. See info pane illustration for details:

Congratulations. You are now the proud owner of a $1000 alarm clock

    I tested it :-)
It will even bring your monitor out of stand-by for EyeTV, and iCal does not need to run either.
