e-mail problem - Cant clear mailbox

We have a mail server runnning MS Exchange. There are about 5 mac users who complains every now and again about not being able to send or receive e-mail because their mailbox size limit is over the preset one. It seems like when they clear out their mailbox(in cluding sent and deleted items) it doesnt make an effect to their mailbox in exchange server. Most of them using iMap with one using exchange on there mailbox setup.

Is there any lead to this that will help me. Im newbie to mac :bushman:

What mail client are they using? Entourage? Mail.app?
