I am trying to change the default settings of the Spotlight search engine for OS X version 10.4.8

I want to change it so that when it starts up the Name field shows up instead of the 'Kind' Field.

Please advise. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you click on the list on the right, you can select the sorting and grouping you want.

I am trying to make the changes permanent, so that when I open Spotlight, it automatically has the search fields to what I want. Will the method you mentioned above work for this? thanks
