Is there any way to use iChat to chat to contacts on MSN Messenger?

Only the MSN Messenger for Mac does not support video conversations as far as I'm aware and I would love to use the amazing video confrence feature in iChat but have no contacts to chat to

You cannot unless you want to go through Jabber, but that's complicated. I suggest looking into an app called aMSN, search Google for it.
