pages and keynote?

Anyone here like iwork '06 Pages 2 and Keynotes 3?

I have read that pages is a much better program than MS Word for Mac. I haven't used it before so I'm a bit unsure of my possible purchase.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I actually have ms office 2004 but since pages is so cheap (student pricing) I figured why not buy it.
