I've recently tried to install quicksilver to see what all the hype is about. Unfortunately when i click on the icon to get it to load, it momenterally appears on the dock (with the little black triangle underneath it) and then dissapears again.

It appears it wont load!

Has anybody else come accross this? how did you get round it ?

If it helps im using a powerbook G4 with OS X 10.4.8

QuickSilver is an awesome boost to the overall Mac experience, I wouldn't be without it.

I haven't experienced your problem but would suggest dragging the app to the trash and then re-download it again.

You probably are doing this already but just in case:

When the .dmg file is downloaded, double-click it and this will mount the volume which opens up a install window. Drag the app in this window to your Apps folder and launch it.

Once there is a little black arrow beneath the Icon in the dock, have you tried CONTROL+SPACE??? This is the default "invoke" for Quicksilver...

many thanks for your replies.

I've installed the app as usual and it appears to install fine, the problem is that when i double click on the icon it only opens for a couple of seconds before closing again (the little triangle dissapears) in this time the CTRL + SPACE combination doesnt seem to do anything at all.

i'm stumped!

Not that it will help you much but I'm having the same issue with Quicksilver. It was working at one point, I created a new user and now I can't get it to work under the new or old user. I've deleted it and reinstalled it and still nothing. Any ideas?

richx2004, did you every find a solution to your issue? I found another post on the QS forum about issue running Stoplight and QS with the new OS update. I haven't checked this on my system yet, but I am running Stoplight. I'll try when I get home and post my results.
