I need to get X11 and OpenOffice installed for school...When I downloaded X11 it said there was a newer version on my computer. How do I take that newer version on my computer and install it without the Operating System cds? I'm running a macbook pro...

Thanks!

If you are running Tiger, the downloaded installer will not work. It is for Panther.
You need to install from your OS X dvd/cd's.

If you don't have access to one, you might try Fink. http://fink.sourceforge.net/

Nope, it says that I need X11 to get started in the installation procedures. Any other ideas anyone?

Thanks!

The only way you will be able to install X11 for Tiger is from your installation media. If you don't have them you will have to get your hands on a set for the install.
