The abomination that is Word

I hate Word with a passion, but I'm being forced to use it for a job.

Problems - I'm trying to place a file as a background (have to use the'watermark 'feature').

JPEG image - doesn't display
EPS - white becomes black
PS EPS - won't open on PC
TIFF - colours corrupt (RGB/CMYK problem?)

Any ideas?
