iMac Sound Effects Issue.Hi, I've had a problem with my iMac, where, while using some applications, the Sound Effects suddenly quit. The System sound effects still work, but any sounds from things such as Flash media or flight simulators just don't work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Those didn't seem to work; I've tried the Disk Utility multiple times and the root commands, and this happened on all accounts.
The only thing that seems suspicious is that I've downloaded two scenery packs for X-Plane at the same time the problem arose. I'm not sure if they did anything, though.

It's a long shot, but try this:
Goto /Applications/Utilities and open Audio Midi Setup. Check if output is set to 44100.0 Hz and 2ch-16bit.
Sometimes games can change these settings killing the sound for other things.Any priest or shaman must be presumed guilty until proved innocent.

Ok, I just moved my sound slider in Audio MIDI and it just worked again, for seemigly no reason.
So.... Thanks! I probably wouldn't have looked there!
