Custom install I-DVD

Hi there.
I'm having problem burning DVD's sometime it work and other times it doesn't Long story short is that after speaking with Apple support they said it sounds like a software issue and I need to do a custom install of I-DVD.

Caan some one tell me how to do that.

This is OSX Tiger, but an early release that had I-DVD as part of the OS, prior to the creation of I-Life.
