Ever since a while ago when I take a screenshot (shift+command+3) it saves it as a .pdf I was wondering how to change this (if possible) to save it as .jpg or .gif

Open it in preview, and click save, and change the type to what you want.

I ment that when I take the screenshot I want it to already be saved as .jpg or .gif
instead of .pdf because I hate always having to change it

there are third party apps that have the option to change it. The only one that i can think of off the top of my head, however, is Onyx
