Encore-burned disc trips up DVD Player

i have a dvd that was formatted and burned using adobe encore 1.5 and it's causing dvd player (4.6.5 running on tiger) some problems.

or the other way around... the disc plays okay until it gets to ~2sec or so from the end of a track, at which point dvd player stops, but doesn't jump back to the menu or to another track (which is how the end jumps are programmed).

any ideas if this might be an encore problem or a dvd player problem?

the disc plays fine in windows (powerDVD, i think is the software) and standard dvd players.

many thanks, emp

does it play in os X using VLC? there could be a bad burn spot in that area or something causing this to happen. try to burn again and see what happens

I'm not familiar with what VLC is, but i know our administrator managed to play the disc in different software (i'm trying to figure this out for someone else, so i don't actually have the dvd) on his powerbook, which worked fine... i do believe they burned multiple copies of the dvd from encore, so i dunno if it's just a disc glitch or a software glitch. we are suspicious of dvd player b/c the problem doesn't seem erratic, but rather predictable.

the other question would then be, has anyone come across any reports of problems with the 4.6.5 vs of dvd player?

thanks again, emp
