Today my Word doc with password protection will not open with the correct password. It worked fine yesterday and before. I know that the password is correct and with the correct case. I have a backup file and it too will not open. This is a major problem and I would appreciate any help or recommendation. Thank you.

Do a Google search for a MS Word password crack program. There are several for Windows which should also work for the Mac version of Word. However, if the Word file suffered corruption for any reason when you closed it the last time, even a password crack program won't help.

Thank you Chscag,
That is what I was trying to avoid, but I will have to give it a try.
