Hello,
I have MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2012) 10.9.2 OSX 2.5 GHz Inter Core i5 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Mavericks.
When i try to play call of duty 2 multiplayer i have the problem as you can see in the pictures.

I have another one (Late 2008, 2Gh core2duo RAM 4GB, Nvidia GeForce 9400M 256MB,IOS X 10.9.2) and there it plays without problem...
Have any idea?
Thanks a lot.

You actually have a 13" MacBook Pro. Apple stopped selling 13" MacBooks in 2011.

The 2012 MBP has integrated Intel graphics...and the 2008 Mac laptop has Nvidia graphics. Some games are optimized for specific graphics hardware. Thus it appears that Call of Duty 2 is better optimized for Nvidia graphics than integrated Intel graphics.

All I can suggest is...try adjusting the graphics quality/resolution of Call of Duty 2...until you get better/more stable results.

I honestly would have thought the HD 4000 he has in the Mid 2012 MBP should do better than what he's showing. Looks like a messed up frame rate. The HD 4000 can borrow up to 768 MB from system memory but like you said, it's an integrated chip set.

I've always heard that many games are better optimized for specific graphics setups. I typically (everyday)...move between a 2009 iMac, 2011 13" MBP, and a 2011 17" MBP (I'm sure with different graphic hardware/software setups)...and I get different reactions to the same games I play.

I think that Call of Duty 2 is an older game. 2005 release for Windows...2006 for Mac. So unless the developers have been really good with updates (not always the way with the Mac versions of games)...I could see how an older 2008 computer might do better than a 2012 (at least in some areas).

You would think that the much faster 2012 MBP would have better frame rates...but maybe not as good at rendering (from a best compatability perspective vs. graphics hardware).

On the other hand. Maybe the 2012 computer just needs to setup differently to get the game to play well (versus the 2008).

I understand according to what you say that there is no way to fix it somehow.
