I have been working on a uni assigment for 3 days and tonight its just gone!

I saved it heaps of times as I went, i have put about 25 hours work into and now its as if it never existed.

Its not in the recent documents in word, its nowhere on the hard drive.

Can anyone help me. I have googled it and can't find anything like thing happening before.

If you click the apple logo in the top left of your screen and click recent items, does it appear in there?
Also were you saving it to an external hdd or flash drive or were you saving it to the computer? And finally were you using microsoft word or another program that can save into word document format?

If you're still monitoring this thread..... Do yourself a favor and turn on "Always Make a Backup" from Word Preferences, Save. That way, as soon as you edit the document, Word will make a backup of it and place it in your documents folder. You were lucky this time, don't push your luck!
