Hi everyone, I'm new to website building and mac forums. I used to use Squarespace, Wix, Tumblr, etc. and only know basic HTML and CSS. This might be a very basic issue but I'm very confused, so thank you in advance for your help!

I am trying to upload a few .html pages to my site (hosted on nearlyfreespech) and want to use SFTP connection. I'm using AptanaStudio3 and Cyberduck 4.4.4 on OS X 10.9.2 with Mavericks.

I've tried connecting to the nfshost using both AptanaStudio's integrated deployment wizard and Cyberduck connection. Neither work. I upped the time out to 90sec and I keep getting the message "connection failed. connection timed out"

Is it a System Preferences issue?
I've tried FileZilla and Rbrowser and etc., but none have worked, so I feel like it's something in my computer's preferences.

Not sure if this is relevant, but it's just shared hosting on NFS - nothing large

It's possible that your host doesn't support SFTP. What happens when you try non secure FTP?

I have tried FTP and the same thing happens. I know it has something to do with my computer settings but don't know what.

The host I use (NFS) specifically asks for SFTP connection.

Do they have a web based upload option? Did you follow the instructions here?
