When I try to install Adobe Flash Player I get a message that safari must be turned off before it can continue. Safari is turned off as far as I can tell. Help.

Hitting the little red button merely shuts the window. The application is still running. Go into File > Quit or as ferrarr advises.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
