(Not sure if this should be in this forum or the "OS X - Operating System")

I have Time Machine backups from former ML 10.8.5
I installed Mavericks 10.9.2

Issue:
I cannot connect to HP Photosmart All-In-One C309g-m printer. This is connected via wi-fi to family's various Macs.

System Preferences/Printers & Scaner - I do not see the printer (see Exhibit 1).

When I click "+" I do have the printer in Bonjour. Clicking on the printer's name and then then clicking "Download & Install" gives me an error message (Exhibit 2).

The printer is connected to the same wi-fi network as this iMac is.

I tried downloading the driver from HP's website but it wants me to use Mavericks's System Preferences.

Any help here?

Try to download direct from HP.

By the way, you didn't post the error message.

iPod 5th gen 30gb, iPad 2 16gb WiFi iOS 7, iPhone 4s 16gb iOS 7.

I was putting in the images when you saw my post. Should be correct now. Hp's site says I need to use Mavericks's System preferences/Printers & Scanners. I saw nothing that outright downloads any drivers.

I would just go to HP and get the download for your printer model and OS.

iPod 5th gen 30gb, iPad 2 16gb WiFi iOS 7, iPhone 4s 16gb iOS 7.

HP are notoriously slow updating drivers.

Howevr go to this link, download, and try. Keep us posted?

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Software & driver downloads HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g | HP® Support
harry: The hyperlink you suggested only takes me back to where I have been before, and I get an error message (exhibit "a")

I spent a *lot* of time researching this with many different "fixes" and "solution". Nothing working so far.

I just tried connecting to it via its IP addy, did connect, but this just sits loading into the queue.

Mayhap I should connect it via Ethernet to our Time Machine router or to one of our computers?

If this configuration works, then cannot a wi-fi config work with the same driver?
