Microsoft has issued an update (14.3.9) to Microsoft Office 2011. If you have automatic updates turned on in Office you should receive notification. If not, select update from any Office 2011 application.

Insert 25 digit product key ....

Yes, will locate it in the email from purchase (box was easier, back in the day). There are so many other upgrades I've recently completed without this step.

Oh well. Microsoft.

Are you saying you're being asked to provide your product key before the update is installed? That has never happened with my copy of Office 2011 and I have installed numerous updates. Very strange unless you recently moved Office 2011 to another Mac?

Agree never had to provide key after original purchase two years ago.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Not been asked for the code during other updates. Haven't applied this one yet though.

It only asks for your key during the installation, not during upgrades.
