Hello everybody,
I work in the film industry and I usually shoot with a SONY EX1 and edit with Final Cut Pro 7.
I have all the XDCAM transfer, SxS driver, etc.
A few days ago, after updating various files in my laptop - including Quick Time -, my XDCAM files (already converted as I have been doing for the past 2 years) didn't play out in FCP. They just played as a constant GREEN frame, but I can hear the sound.
There is a sign saying "Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card."
I have tried to reinstall everything again but no luck.
I tried to play my Canon 7D files (after converting them in MPEG streamcilp to Apple Pros Res 422) and they do work in FCP.
Someone told me it might be the GFX CARD, but why would it play some files and not the EX1 files?
Waiting list at Apple stores is over a week, so not sure I can wait that long.
Any suggestions?
THANKS A LOT in advance, x

had the same trouble here, with my xdcam files they all went green an no previews all after proapps update. the problem seems to be on quicktime codecs.

After reading lots o posts about same problem, the solution I found was to replace files in Library/quicktime for an older version of quicktime files. You can install MAC OS X 10.6.8 on an External HD. Then install QuickTime 7.6.6 , I replaced the Library/QuickTime files from QuickTime v. 7.6.6, onto the old internal HD install. I also downloaded the latest xdcam log and transfer update, and everything is running again!

Hope this is usefull
