"you can't open the application "Rise of Nations Gold.app" becasue PowerPc applications are no longer supported"
can any help in solving this problem? shall appreciate

It sounds like you've got an Intel machine and are running something newer than Snow Leopard (10.6). If this is the case, the error is telling you that the application was built for a different architecture (PowerPC) that is no longer supported. You're out of luck if that's the case.

As vansmith points out it is twelve year old software that will not run on Lion or later as Rosetta support, which enabled PowerPC applications to run, has been culled.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Search, search, search. We usually don't keep up on the latest & greatest game versions. Just go to the developers website & check. 10 seconds later you have your answer (your post is now 4 hours old)!
