We need a lot more detail. What browser (and version) are you using? What is the website? What have you or have you not tried?

firefox 23.0.1 (but also have Safari Version 6.0.5).
no website in general; there are several websites that use these embedded jwplayer files to play video.
So far have only tried a few firefox addons: download helper (which has no way of downloading these videos) and flash video downloader (How to Download Flash Video - 2013 Tutorial - YouTube which works up until you click download, pick a location to download, and click save, EXCEPT it doesn't download anything)

Most web videos are only meant to be streamed and not downloaded for a variety of reasons (personal choice on the part of web designers, copyright, etc). Why not just bookmark the website for future use?

many reasons. (1) web sites usually delete content any where from weeks to months after posting (2) to view when no wifi around
