Would it be possible to run Parallels/Win8 image out of large USB3 flash drive? It takes tons of space on HD and I need it but not much anymore. I am in love with Mac

Yes you can

Move the virtual machine to another disc, then delete from the virtual machine lists

Then add it again and use the option use existing virtual machine but select the one on the new drive

I tried USB3 external hd, works but not as from HD. Interesting if flash drive or SD would be better. Image is large and I can't find cheap cards or drives with USB3. Maybe it is bad idea?
