Ok, I admit it. i am an early adopter of new technology.

i bought iLife 06 since i wanted to start a blog and i was too lazy to do research on how to set it up. also, i liked the way the iPhoto integrates with my .mac address.

i am not a power user at all. i basically put pics up for my family to see of my vacation, etc. i am using the blogs so i can update my family on my sick grandmother's condition (as morbid as that sounds). it works well, actually. iWeb is very easy to use.

iPhoto is cool as you can do side by side comparisons of pictures you are modifying and the original one. i never realized how useful that is. also, it integrates the calendar and greeting cards you can order through apple directly from your iPhoto. i ordered a calendar from vacation pics but it takes a week to get them..

you can do podcasts from garageband, but i haven't messed with that yet.

also, there are improvements to iDVD and iMovie. i am gonna work on those tomorrow.

i definitely think it was worth the $79.

A Mac

Yup iLife 06 is awesome, just like every other mac innovation. I dont have it but have used it on a friend's mac. they have come up a long way, iMovie can open multiple projects at same time, iDVD has more templates, iPhoto has full screen editing...oh and they also added another member...iWeb. Haven't tried that but i bet it looks cool

I did write a PowerBook G4 12" review but it never got posted...

I would write an iLife '06 review if it was to be posted.

Just to add - will be starting my iLife '06 review literally after I have made a cuppa tea. :flower: (In a great mood as my Belkin Wifi card works a treat in my PowerMac G4, saving me a fair few pennies over a 'Mac' Wifi card, or heaven forbid an Airport card...)

I hope you are right. I have one foot in the Mac world and one foot in the PC world. I just bought a Powerbook G4. I have been a PC user since 1986. I thought I should switch and see what the MAC world is all about.
Hopefully I will find it a pleasant experience.

I agree, iLife 2006 is pretty cool. I've only used it lightly, since it's on my wife's iMac, but she really likes it. I'm having a hard time getting used to iPhoto though; Picasa 2 for Windows seems so much faster.

I'm enjoying the new version so far, especially the improvements to iMovie and iPhoto. The last time I used any of these apps was about 5 years ago when I got my G4.

I'm not sure if I'd go out and spend $70 on it since I probably won't use it all that much, but since it came bundled with the new G5 I'll certainly utilize it.
