AOL Instant Messenger has been unexpentantly quitting on my friends new IBook. Like, the OS comes up with that error that says it had to close the app for some reason. Any idea as to how to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Any reason why he's using AIM on a Mac? AIM is horrendous on Mac. All Macs come with iChat which connects to the AIM network, he should use that.

Yeah...iChat works well too but he won't be able to use an AIM profile if he has one.

I wouldn't really know what to do to fix the problem with AIM, and I'd be willing to bet most people here wouldn't. From what I can tell, most users on macs don't use the actual AIM program, so they probably wouldn't know how to troubleshoot it.

You might be able to check out the website...?

Delete Aim's preference files (search for aol.pref or aim.pref and delete them).
Try deleting the App and redownload from aim.com.
