Hyperlinking Social Media Icons in Outlook 2011 Sig Blocks

I've figured out how to do all the typical formatting like bold, color...etc...and even the way around to add images by dragging them over or by opening up word first....But one dang thing I can't figure out is how to get the images...to hyper link. I highlighted the icon --then went to hyperlink...and it took out the icon and put the text link.... HELP
