I have iAntivirus installed and want to run it to check to make sure I haven't downloaded any rubbish/virus when I inadvertantly opened a link on a bad e-mail on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.6. I had no request to allow access to the system so I just want to make sure.

BUT I can't find it to run it? Any ideas where to look please?

John.
Now I know what it's for it either wore out or fell off!

Nothing showing in Spotlight, but I know that I have it on the machine? It ran just the other day?

Most peculiar

I've re downloaded and installed it and it now shows in Applications. It's running now as I think I may have opened a dodgy Paypal e-mail. Senior moment???

As there are no Mac viruses, I'd personally say you wasted your money. Should have had a look at our "Virus", Malware, Security FAQ sticky.

In as much as you can receive a Windows virus, but it won't run on your Mac or affect it in any way unless you have a Windows partition. There are no viruses that affect MacOS.

iAntivirus apparently hasn't seen an update in years. Their threat database makes no mention of any of the malware that has hit OS X in the past couple years.

If you really want to screen for malware, then ClamXav is the only one worth bothering with.

Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.
