I've used MS Office for Windows in the past and am new to the Mac program. I'm working on a large data spreadsheet. There are a lot of cells with repeat information (city/state). When the program makes a suggestion based on an entry previously typed, I hit enter to have it automatically fill in the cell. The program is then advancing to the next cell down in the column rather than the next cell in the row. Does anyone know how to change that? Thanks!

Hi,

In Excel (I use 2011 but hope it is the same), go to Preferences, go to 'Authoring' and select 'Edit'.

Third box down on the left should be checked and the default is set to 'down'. Pick your preferred direction and click OK.

Hope it works!
