Simplest way, Share the movie to iDVD from within iMovie, then hit Burn to DVD.

MBP 17" 2011, 2.3GHz Intel Quad-Core i7, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1GB RAM
MacMini 2011, 2.7GHz Intel Dual-Core i7, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256MB RAM

The OP may not have iDVD on his Mac.

In that case use Burn
Burn - Home
which is free,

or Roxio's Toast:
Roxio Toast 11 Titanium - CD, DVD, Blu-Ray Burning Software Program for Mac
which isn't.

my mac pro doesn't have IDVD, so I downloaded Burn. While trying to use Burn it requests it will convert my imovie. After doing so, when I click burn to dvd it closes right up. Not sure what is causing this. I've tried it a few times.
