Hey Guys

Hoping someone can help. Ive been using the mail program on my macbook pro for a while now. My comps a couple years old. Regardless I have about 6 email accounts and have been using it with no issue for a while. Today I had a message that 77 new messages were coming in, I can see the progress and it gets to about 9 then just stops and no emails actually come through. Its almost as if someone is trying to send me a huuuge file and its clogging my mail accounts brain.

Anyway, I tried force quit and reopen, I tried turning the internet off and and on again and I am running out of tricks. Does anyone know how to unclog and incoming mail drain? Please help, I will try anything, web mail for six accounts isnt really ideal and I dont really want to switch over to entourage or anything else when Mail has been working so well up till this point. My thought is there has to be a few things I have not tried yet.

Gurus? Can you help?

Nathan

hi nathan,

one first idea - if you are using gmail where that emails come in or any other web based mail - go there and delete the email, then run mail again so it won't download it.
other idea - clean your caches. if you have no idea how - have a look at my recently written article, hope it helps: TheMacMania - Tips, Tricks and more for your Mac Computer

ok, beside that you could delete mails in the folders in your finder.
