My wife and I both have imacs with os10.6.8. We both did a security update a couple of days ago, after which Adobe Illustrator cs2 will not open, save or export files. We can open "recent files," but not new files. We only assume the last os update was the problem, but it's the common denominator and only since then did the problem arise. We're looking to see if there is a known issue and especially if there is a fix. Anyone know?

You are correct. The last update to 10.6 broke Rosetta, which is the emulation that is used to run very old Mac software (like Illustrator CS2).
Here's the update that corrects the issue: Security Update 2012-001 (Snow Leopard) Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |
