How to move photos from iPhoto to ext hard drive?

Hi, I would like to know how to transfer my photos from iphoto to an external hard drive please. I have tried export but no luck.

You could just select them in iPhoto and drag them to the hard drive icon/folder. If you have RAW shots in iPhoto the copies will be jPEG though (useful and easy way to make jpeg copies of RAW)

A quick way of bulk copying is to go to Home/pictures and right click on the iPhoto icon. Then select Show Package Contents. In the new window select Originals and drill down to the pics you want, then copy and paste.
