Word for Mac: Highlighted Text Disappearing

I am using Word 2011, 14.1.4. I have several tables in my document, and some of the cells have shading. Sometimes (it does not happen consistently), when I shade a cell, all of the text disappears except for the last line. This only happens in Print Layout view. If I view in Draft or Print Preview, the text displays correctly. Unfortunately Print Layout is my preferred view, so it's annoying to have the text not shown.

I've attached a document with two screenshots to try to illustrate the problem.

When colleagues using the same version of Word open the document, they do NOT see the same issue.
