iPhoto '11 detecting Faces; not allowing me to give them names

So... my iPhoto '11 (v9.21 to be exact) is giving me problems. Basically, on some photos, it will detect Faces and let me name them using the text box below the square around the Face, and others, it will say "1 unnamed" face, but no place to name the face. See the photo below, or the attached image...
