The reviews from "very good" to " this will eat your work without warning or hope of retrieval". Any input on which is correct?

For the most part - good. There have been some horror stories of Word devouring documents - but supposedly - that's been fixed. If you institute a diligent saving process which you should anyway, you can avoid that issue just in case it hasn't.

It is Awesome!! No Complaints so far. 2 of the teachers that were giving me excel classes both have Office mac 2011 and raved about it.
