Remove Firefox search engine

Hello

How do I remove a search engine from the toolbar in Firefox. I like the search function but feel no need to have Amazon, eBay etc.. when i don't need them.

I searched on Mozilla website but found nothing of much help.

Go to Applications\Firefox....right click on the firefox icon..
show package contents...contents...Go to Mac OS.....searchplugins... drag the ones you don't want to the trash..
