Is it possible to open another program like Word while in presenter view without the external screen switching off of the slideshow?

While you're in the PP presentation mode, the projected image mirrors what you see on the internal display. I know there is special software (designed for Windows) that allows what you're asking. But I don't know if there is anything for the Mac which can do the same thing.
