Duplicate email appearing in

I have a mobile me account and have been using it for 2 years now in conjunction with mac mail 4.5. Just this week I began getting duplicate email appearing in my inbox. If I read and delete one, they both delete. But it's a pain cause it's glitchy and just creates twice the bulk. anyone else having this issue and were you able to resolve it?
