X11 and gimp agida

hope im in right forum
gimp used to work---x11 came up as did gimp-downloaded who knows what about x11 and everything stopped working--installed x11 and gimp now
what now happens is 2 x11 appear in dock and hen disappear--gimp crashes--never opens--i deleted what x11 stuff i found and only now deal with last install of x11 from osx disk--any ideas? i feel that something is corrupted

If reinstalling doesn't work, try Seashore : it's based on GIMP but does not use x11.
