Dictionary has gone!!!! There is just wikipedia!!!Hi, i recently needed to use the built in apple dictionary application. Only to find the dictionary plugin is not there. There is only wikipedia!!! I do not like wikipedia and would like for the thesaurus and dictionary plugin back!!! I have been on preferences and the only option is wikipedia, i how no option to change from wikipedia.
As you can see on the image link there are tab like things saying; all, dictionary, thesaurus, apple, wikipedia. On my dictionary the only tabs there are, are; All, wikipedia. please can someone help, as i really need the dictionary function. Thanks.

along the top are tabs. click dictionary.

I would dl Pacifist for Mac - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Downloads and extract just the dictionary app.

I'm sure you have but I'll ask anyway. Have you checked the Dictionary preferences to make sure all the other options are still checked?

Could be, unless he really has already been in preferences as he says in the first post.
Have to go with Pacifist to reinstall the dictionary app.

Have just used pacifist and i can now say that dictionary is back!!!! Thanks to everyone who has helped!!!

Now i see the problem! Its because you "US English" checked in preferences. Pick "British English" and everything will magically work again.
