I have a phishing email, trying to get my paypal account information, and the email CANNOT BE FORWARDED! I called paypal, they said something was wrong with my email. I talked to etsy, they won't listen either! I have an email from a woman , several in fact, and they can't be forwarded to etsy or paypal! I have no trouble forwarding anything else. My email works fine. Am I the first one on the receiving end of a new virus or something? Has this happened to anyone else? I want to shout that something is very wrong, but no one will listen! I remembered the friendly people here that helped me tremendously when I first got my mac. Also wanted to warn people that there is email now that can't be forwarded! I am not crazy!

Mm, do this.
Hit the reply button, don't worry it will not send anything yet. It will open the reply window for you, then instead of sending it back to that scam email just change the "Reply" email to PayPals address and send it.

There's no such thing as an email that can't be forwarded.

What do you mean it cant be forwarded? Does it come up with a message when you try to forward it? Is the forward message just greyed out?

I mean that when I type in paypal address and hit forward it goes to the original sender, and not to paypal! I did finally get it to go through after trying several times. And yes, someone at work said that if she wanted to send a confidential email she could lock it so the receiver could not send it forward nor print it. I could not print this one either. I was going to send it snail mail , but couldn't. It is definitely a scam, but think paypal is working on it. Seriously, it could not be forwarded. I don't know what I did to finally get it to go to paypal, except trying several times.

There was no message or pop up. I did get an email from google ( I use gmail) saying that the email could not be sent.

It's not a fwd issue, it's a delivery issue.

Thanks. But the code means that the users mail box was not available. I find it hard to believe that paypals mail box was unavailable. The sender did something to the email so it could not be forwarded to paypal?? imo

Sorry.. I just don't see the spoof@ address in any of the headers. However, that being said there's nothing that can be done to an smtp message that would render it unforwardable. There are mail systems that do that (Lotus Notes is one), but that's all controlled with hooks in that mail systems operation itself and anything it would transmit via smtp would not be effected.

Personally, I'd just delete it.

edit: then again, I have very little patience for admins not doing their jobs.. which, if you're getting a 550 bounce from an abuse type address.. IMO is the case.
