computer to computer calls

With a powerpc mac [G5 3.0 w/X.4.1.1] is it possible to make free calls to someone on a pc? Google/gmail doesn't support paleo macs. I can not register on skype and get no help from them. After filling all the info and clicking the button I just get redirected back to the sign in page with no explanation.

Suggestion: Have you tried "Google Voice"? With GV you can make calls from a PC to a Mac and vice versa. The only stipulation is that the person called (and you) have a Google Voice number. (which is free)
